What a lender will look at for you

Answer the five questions and press See what lenders will look at.

Situations like yours are common, and some lenders specialise in them. Nabita will review your situation and tell you honestly which options are realistic. This isn't an assessment or an approval: every lender has its own policies, and all applications are subject to lender approval.

How MoneyGenie helps

Nabita compares options from MoneyGenie's panel of 35+ lenders, tells you upfront which are realistic for your situation, and handles the application with you through to settlement. Our service is generally at no cost to you, as we're paid a commission by the lender, which we disclose to you upfront. Details are in our Credit Guide, available on request. Frequently asked questions

Will using this checker affect my credit score?

No. It doesn't check your credit report, and nothing you enter is sent anywhere unless you choose to send us an enquiry.

Can a broker help if the banks have said no?

Often. Lenders have different policies for visas, self-employment and credit history, and some specialise in situations the big banks decline. A broker can tell you which lenders are realistic before you apply.

How long does a default stay on my credit report?

Five years, even after it's paid. A bankruptcy stays for five years from when it started, or two years after it ended, whichever is later. Repayment history shows the last two years.
